Mindanao, in the southern part of the Philippines, is a region rich in Islamic culture and traditions. But for many years, it has been deeply affected by conflict between government forces and various rebel groups.
Because of the frequent clashes, civilians often become victims. Families live in constant fear, and schools are forced to suspend classes. Many residents have no choice but to flee their homes and live in evacuation centers—often in small, makeshift tents that offer little comfort, especially for children.
For those left behind, the pain is even greater. Some lose loved ones to sudden violence, with no warning or chance to prepare. The emotional toll on families is deep and lasting.
Despite the hardships, the people of Mindanao continue to hope for peace. The elders pray for a better future for the next generation—one free from war, fear, and displacement. Their voices echo one message: they want peace, not just for today, but for all the days to come.
